The Wesfeeds business, in operation since 1939, was founded with a dedication to provide products of the highest standard. Based in Perth, Western Australia, Wesfeeds today is Western Australia's largest stockfeed mill and is one of Australia's leading manufacturers of processed animal feed products, producing a comprehensive range of compound feeds and nutritional services for commercial and domestic animals.

As both a buyer from, and a supplier to, rural industries, Wesfeeds is a significant stakeholder in the future of agriculture in Western Australia. Wesfeeds is the largest domestic user of Western Australian grains, fibre, proteins and other raw materials purchased to process through our mill into compound animal feeds. Our strategic location in Perth is ideal for access to some of Australia's finest quality ingredients. Blended and processed, these raw materials form the basis of feed supply for a large proportion of Western and Northern Australia's intensive livestock producers and for export markets in Asia, the Indian Ocean rim and the Middle East.

Through our corporate structure, we have closely integrated links with major pig and poultry farming operations and with meat and dairy manufacturing industries.

Total quality management is an integral part of Wesfeeds' business philosophy. As a food industry business we are committed to continuous improvement and best practice in all our processes. Wesfeeds is proud to be the first stockfeed manufacturer accredited to the HACCP based SQF 2000 quality system standard. We are also one of the first manufacturers audited to FeedSafe, the Australian stockfeed manufacturing industry's quality standard based on a Code of Good Manufacturing Practice.

Quality assurance commences with the selection of raw materials and proceeds through all our processes until final distribution. All ingredients are inspected, tested and analysed for nutritional quality against the highest standards by Wesfeeds' fully equipped in-house laboratory. Any that fail to meet our standards and specifications are rejected. Stringent hygiene procedures are followed in all storage and production areas, with constant checks conducted throughout manufacturing to maintain product purity and quality. Prior to despatch, all finished feeds undergo final monitoring to ensure conformity to Wesfeeds' nutritional standards, guaranteeing consistent specifications and quality.

Wesfeeds operates one of the most efficient and up to date stockfeed processing mills in Australia.

Utilising state of the art computer-based process control technology for grinding, batching, mixing and pelleting, feeds are manufactured to exact nutritional specifications. The highly automated production lines within the mill give significant benefits in productivity, flexibility of production and quality control.

Ongoing capital investment in production technology continues to reflect our commitment to unrelenting continuous improvement in all aspects of 'the way we do things'.

This is carried through in the management and development of our people, involving them in the pursuit of Wesfeeds' objectives and allowing them to realise their full potential in our business. Our focus on workplace health and safety is recognised by our external accreditation to AS4801, the industry standard for safety management systems.
